Launched in 2007 as a reinvention of the 1997 Aquazone sub-theme, Aqua Raiders brought treasure-hunting divers to the mysterious Bermuda Triangle, featuring high-tech submarines and specialized equipment in the hunt for an ancient king's lost treasure while battling oversized sea creatures. This short-lived theme ran for just one year before retirement, creating scarcity that has driven collector interest in flagship sets like The Shipwreck and Aquabase Invasion. The theme's brief production window, with most sets available on LEGO.com only until September 2008, has made complete collections particularly sought-after among underwater theme enthusiasts.
